Diagnostic Assessments

Full diagnostic assessments conducted by an experienced, qualified, and accredited Specialist Teacher Assessor.

Provides an in-depth expedition into your strengths and challenges. Suitable to explore dyslexia, dyscalculia, and ADHD.

If you or someone you know is struggling with dyslexia, getting a comprehensive assessment can be a big help.

The process starts with an initial interview to get a sense of the student’s learning development. Then, there’s a face-to-face diagnostic with various tests that only Specialist Teacher Assessors and Educational Psychologists can administer.

I make sure to work with students at their own pace to get an accurate picture of their abilities.

The assessment explores many different areas of the brain, including underlying ability with vocabulary and logic, different aspects of memory, phonological skills (sounds management), different aspects of literacy, and maths.

Once the assessment is done, I provide an easy-to-understand summary of the findings, along with a full report.

In addition to assessments for specific learning difficulties, I’m also trained to conduct interviews for ADHD. Whether you want to include the results in your dyslexia assessment or just get them on their own, I’m here to help. You’ll get a detailed report that you can take to a medical professional if needed.

As a fully qualified and insured assessor for dyslexia and dyscalculia in all age ranges, I take my work seriously.

I’m always up to date with the latest research and standards, which means my findings are valid, transparent, and accessible to everyone. Plus, I make sure to include a support section in each report, so you’ll know what needs to be done to make progress. If you need the report for a Disabled Students’ Allowance application, no problem — I’ve got you covered.

Prices for a thorough report start at just £550, which is a great value for a lifetime of benefits. Most importantly, I’m committed to providing a friendly, safe, and helpful service to all my clients. Let’s work together to help you or your loved one succeed!

SPLD & ADHD Assessment

18 years old or older

My daughter has asked me to let you know she got a grade 6 in her English Language GCSE!

I wanted to thank you for doing such a fantastic job on tutoring her! She went from a grade 3 to a grade 6 in a few months!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Thank you so much for such a detailed and comprehensive report.

The way you’ve explained each area is so clear and will be helpful to my son and his future teachers as well as giving myself and my husband a much greater understanding of how my son’s brain works.

– A grateful parent

Sarah Wicks, you are brilliant!

My son is doing so much better with his writing thanks to your session.

His teacher is so impressed with him and asked when he will be doing another session.

I recommend Sarah as an excellent tutor.

She engaged my 15-year-old son online really well, and he appreciated her support in preparing for his GCSE English.

She gave him lots of really helpful tips to enable him to improve his writing.

Thank you, Sarah, so much!

Every now and then you meet somone who not only knows their stuff inside out, but also has the passion and demeanour to inspire people to come on the journey with them.

I would be happy to recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a tutor to assist with English or dyslexia as she has inpired our son. In short, we can’t speak highly enough of her.

Sarah was a breath of fresh air for us and our 9-year-old daughter.

She has a Disney-level enthusiasm for every lesson!

Right from the first session with Sarah she made it clear to our daughter that none of what she was struggling with was her fault.

We are so grateful for all you did Sarah and thank you from the bottom of our happier hearts.

I found trying to support my son with his struggles through GCSE English completely daunting: not only did I not know how to help him, he also didn’t want my input.

Sarah was introduced to me and has filled the gap, complemented school teaching while adding her own expertise and coached and cajoled my son from being quietly overlooked struggling at the back of the class to being an engaged, insightful student with a lot to say even if he doesn’t always manage to get it all down on paper.

None of us know all of the answers, but that’s OK because we can work together to achieve more as a team than we could ever produce alone.

Sarah, thank you for your kindness, incredible patience and encouragement on the assessment day, and for making my world make a bit more sense!

For me, what was so important was to see that score showing my overall underlying ability – if only I’d known that at 14 rather than 54!

Sarah has worked for me at a leading FE college for a few months now and I’ve received nothing but positive feedback.

She’s professional and very skilled in her area. I’d recommend her to anyone!

After being predicted a fail in English in year 10, my son went on to get a 5 with Sarah’s help.

What she taught him meant he was able to get a C in AS Economics. So proves he can now write well structured written work.
